Cognex has introduced the world’s smallest high-performance industrial ID reader. It is called the DataMan 100 Series. Image based, it combines industry-leading code reading software performance (up to 45 reads per second), ease-of-use, lighting, camera, processor and communications into an exceptionally small, industrial-rated housing. DataMan 100 Series fixed-position barcode reader models provide a good match for client applications, which include 1-D barcode reading, high speed applications or for challenging 2-D direct part marks (DPM) and label-based decoding. The DataMan 100 series offers industry-leading reading performance in a small product size with USB and RS-232 communication options. Other features comprise three-position adjustable lens, integrated lighting and LED aimer, train and trigger button for ease of setup, and C-mount lens option. The DataMan 100 Verifier has been redesigned for faster setup and easier operation with a new lighting assembly, adjustable 30 and 45 degree angle lighting, an optional height-adjustable stand, and a new part positioning guide for easier location of codes. The DataMan100 verification system provides compliant grading to the ISO 15415, AIM DPM and AS9132 code quality standards and guidelines, and has been tested for compliance to the ISO 15426-2 standard for verification systems.
