High Speed Rolling Doors

Albany Door Systems GmbH has developed door systems that save energy and thus costs. In industries, the doors have to be opened numerous times to transport goods, people, etc, and lead to considerable loss of energy, increasing emissions for the time they are left open. This also lead s to the necessity of expensive heating and insulation systems. Warm air pours in through the doors for the duration they are left open leading to higher energy consumption. Model RR3000 high speed rolling door opens 84 per cent faster and closes 60 per cent faster than a door of the same size. The doors open rapidly at up to 3.2 m/s and close immediately once the goods have passed through the doorway. The capabilities of rapid roll doors are determined at the climate airlock. For the forklift truck or a truck to drive towards the outside door, it opens fully automatically. The moment the vehicle passes the outside door, it closes again, and the second (inside door) has already opened to allow it to continue its journey. A lock control system ensures that the second door only opens when the first one has closed. The lock effect that arises reduces the undesirable exchange of air (and its associated effects, such as loss of energy or contamination) carried by the airflows to a minimum.
