Fire rated rolling shutters act as physical fire barriers that protect wall openings from the spread of fire and are designed to close automatically in the event of fire or an alarmed event. Automatic closure is thermally controlled by means of fusible link. Motorised fire rated rolling shutters are tested and approved by SIRIM QAS International Malaysia and Warringtonfire (Australia) Pty Ltd which comply with BS 476: Part 22: 1987 standards for stability and integrity for up to 4 hours. Application includes industrial, commercial, institutional, and retail projects where fire protection is required. Fire rated rolling shutters are designed to stay open under normal circumstances, and close automatically in the event of a fire. They are structured and constructed to prevent the spread of fire to adjoining areas. The fusible integrated links melt at 74°C, which triggers the fire rolling shutters to close automatically in the event of a fire. These ranges of doors are available with fire retardant filled material and are designed for integrity and stability.
