PLC-based data acquisition system

Vinit Electronics & Electricals programmable logic controller based data acquisition system. This consists of a PC based terminal with acquisition rack containing interface and signal conditioner modules. The rack and PC communicate with each other using serial communication. The module is a cassette containing isolated signal conditioners of different types. The modules are analogue inputs, analogue outputs, digital inputs and digital outputs/relay output, PID controller, etc. Windows based software named Nucleus Ver 2.0 developed in-house is residing in the PC terminal and can execute the following tasks: ladder diagram programming using ladder symbols or using C++ compiler; data acquisition and display; graphical data display; mimics; bar charts; alarm messages; current and historical trends; report generation; and application program writing in C compiler. General: each module has its own CPU and program RAM and address; module is housed in 6U, 14T cassette compatible to DIN STD sub rack 19"; the module has necessary connectors and screw terminals at the back; in case of digital inputs and outputs LED indications are provided on the front panel; each module has RS485 serial port to communicate with PC; each module can be designed with unique address; and a maximum of 256 modules can be hooked up to the PC simultaneously.
