Antech Micro Systems offers SmartCAM production turning™ V14 software, which Generate CNC machine processes and code for 2-axis lathes. SmartCAM production turning™ software creates efficient toolpath and CNC code for 2-axis lathes. As the first tier in the SmartCAM family of turning applications, it offers the functionality needed today plus an easy, long-term growth path for future needs. Like all SmartCAM applications, production turning is designed to help reduce programming time, improve machining processes, and deliver customer’s parts quicker. Ease of use: SmartCAM production turning™ runs with the icon-oriented Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2000 operating systems; production turnings graphical user interface uses manufacturing terminology and logical operational sequences that even first time users will find familiar and experienced users can apply quickly. Solid model integration: import, export, display, and machine from solid, surface or wireframe CAD data using SAT, IGES, DXF or DWG formats. SmartCAM provides the complete 3D solid-model support. Show cut simulates the machine cutting movement through a solid rendering of the part stock, just as it will happen on the machine, allowing the user to verify the program before generating the tool path. Shortens part delivery time: SmartCAM production turning™ provides comprehensive solutions that helps jobs get done faster and shorten part delivery time, including fast, flexible toolpath geometry; automatic roughing routines; linear operations can be generated at any angle. For undercut roughing, SmartCAM automatically identifies the part and material boundaries for any areas not cut by the back of the tool; contour roughing follows the finish profile; and groove roughing cuts are generated for the ID, OD, or face of user’s part.
