PC-BASED KERNEL CNC NEEDS NO CNC CPU

The IBH PA 8000, Kernel CNC can be installed into any standard PC to create a full featured CNC control. The CNC, PLC, and PC run on the same standard motherboard (486 or Pentium). There is no need for an additional CNC CPU-board, which until now, has been a necessity for all PC-based CNC controls. The Kernel CNC consists of hardware, software, and an installation manual. Once installed in a PC, it is said to immediately give the machine tool builder a full-featured, high-tech CNC control with the same functionality as a full blown CNC system. The Kernel CNC is described as the perfect high-tech platform for OEMs that want to have their own CNC control, but do not want to reinvent the wheel by developing G-codes that have been standard in the industry for years. However, an optional development environment (called Compile Cycles) allows the OEMs to incorporate their proprietary, in-house developments into all areas of this open architecture system (Interpreter task, Interpolator task, Position Loop task, ManMachine-Interface task, PLC tasks, and Communication task). An integrated PLC is also pan of the package, and it can be interfaced to various I/Os. This Kernel CNC system is targeted for machine tool builders, system integrators, and retrofitting companies that want to build their own CNC using off-the-sheff PC hardware.
