Smoke Detectors

Powertec offers Smoke Detectors, STFA 01. These are the Smoke Temperature Fire Alarm Unit which is an invaluable accessory in server racks and cabinet, to protect the sensitive and expensive equipment housed there-in from damage by fire, resulting from short circuits, overload and cable faults. The compact and slim design of the unit allows it to be conveniently mounted in the box as per requirement, thereby giving it a vantage and unobtrusive location to continuously monitor the exhaust air for traces of smoke. The sensor element used in STFA is the highly sensitive and reliable Infrared technology which is capable of sensing smoke of varied consistencies with 60*C as the cutoff temperature. When the Detector senses smoke, the STFA is designed to instantly provide a relay changeover contact, which may be used for local or remote alarm indication annunciation. The instrument also has a local audio alarm buzzer, coupled with one flashing bright Red LED to indicate an Alarm condition. The smoke, temperature, fire alarm unit operates on 48 VDC powers supply and consumes a current of less than 24mA in normal operation. When smoke is detected by the Smoke Detector, the STFA goes into the alarm condition. The Relay contact immediately changes over and sends the alarm signal to the remote alarm monitor or PLC. A red alert LED lights up to indicate alarm status. Simultaneously the one red LED flash alternately, while the Buzzer emits a continuous 1.2KHz / 110dB frequency beep. The service personnel must first switch off the ON/OFF switch on the unit, thereby stopping the beep and flashing the alarm LED?s. Thereafter, once suitable remedial action is taken to eliminate the source of the smoke, the STFA may be once again switched ON and the instrument takes over the job of monitoring for smoke.
