Flame Arrester

Flame arresters are used in chemical, petrochemical and allied industries. These find application in industries requiring storing of hazardous chemicals. They are mounted on top of the strong tanks at the vent to prevent passing of flame into the tank or in the pipeline thereby considerably reducing the fire hazard. Its special crimped ribbon design prevents flame from entering into tanks on which it is mounted. The gases are allowed to pass through an element, which prevents the flame from entering into the process. Use of the flame arresters: in any process of plant which uses a flammable gas or vapour that could conceivably ignite, a flame, flame arrester must be installed. Oscar flame arrester are available in the following specifications: comply with – API 2000; materials of construction – cast steel, stainless steel 304/316, aluminium alloy LM6 and cast iron; trim – crimped ribbon bank stainless steel 304/316; end connections – flanged; and sizes – 25 to 600mm.
