Star Fire Safety Equipments offers Minimax Halotron I, a proven clean Fire Extinguishing Agent that is effective on a wide range of fires. Since it is a clean agent, it does not leave a residue after application, and therefore minimal of collateral damage occurs from the agent itself to equipment in the area. Minimax Halotron I is a chemical blend based on HCFC – 123, which is also widely used as refrigerant in other applications. It has a relatively high boiling point of 27ºC (80.6ºF), which makes it ideal for use in portable fire extinguishers. The operator can apply the agent from safer distances compared to other agents. This advantage provides dual benefits of both increased range and accuracy. It is also employed in limited total flooding and local application environments, such as those designed for and installed in engine compartments. Other localised flooding applications include computer cabinets, telecommunications, and manufacturing equipment. Another distinct advantage Minimax Halotron I has over other agents is that is that it maintains liquid physical state at elevated temperatures because of its higher boiling point. It is dependable at the elevated temperatures, as one would expect when fighting fires, as well as in normal ambient conditions, particularly in warmer climates. Other agents, especially those with lower boiling points, tend to evaporate sooner and quickly lose their effectiveness as the temperature rises.
