Safety Light Barriers For Welding Application

Orbital Systems offers a range of safety light barriers for safety of operators working in hazardous areas. A light curtain of infra red beams are sourced from the transmitter unit to the receiver unit. The control unit detects any obstruction in the path and the signal generated is used for ensuring safety operation. These light barriers are immune to weld sparks that are generated during welding and find application for welding robots and welding SPMs. These barriers are available with a screen height of up to 2000 mm with a range of over 5000 mm. Standard models are available with 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 48, 64 and 96 beams with a pitch from 3 mm and above. These safety guards are made of extruded aluminium sections and are extremely rugged immune to vibrations and easily withstand hostile shop floor conditions. Well-designed optics ensures easy alignment. The guards comply with OSHA and ANSI standards to meet control reliability requirements. Incorporating dual electronic circuits, self tests features; dual output relays, fail to safe logic and built in surge suppression, these safety guards ensure absolute protection for the operator. Advanced features such as floating blanking for individual channels make them versatile. Applications are in hazardous areas such as on power presses, paper-cutting machines, moulding machines, welding machines and area guarding for robots.
