Oxidation Resistant Coating For Graphite

Graphi-Coat 623 is an advanced oxidation resistant coating for graphite, used in high temperature metallurgical applications to 1,100?C. This patented coating has been shown to increase dramatically the life of many commercial grades of graphite used as electrodes to arc-melt steel and aluminium and crucibles to process gold and other precious metals for the semiconductor and jewellery industries. Additional applications include graphite fixtures, liners and guides. The surface to be coated needs preparation in terms of cleaning to remove oil, grease, dirt corrosives, oxides paint or other foreign matter. It also needs to be heated adequately burn off any residual moisture or oils. The coating should be applied within 8 hours of surface preparation by dipping or with a brush or spray gun, at ambient temperature between 10-30?C. Conventional spray gun equipment may be used.
