Coatings (Nonfused), By Arc Spray Gun

Sintered & Sprayed Ceramics specializes in various fusible and non fusible industrial thermal coatings such as satellites, tungsten, carbides, boron carbides, chromium carbides and ceramics. In non fused coatings by arced spray gun, two consumable wire electrodes insulated from each other, automatically advance to meet at a point. A potential difference of 16 to 40 volts applied across the wires initiate an arc that melts the tips of the electrodes. An atomizing gas stream, usually compressed air, is directed across the arc zone. This gas stream shears off molten droplets, which form the atomized spray that coats the substrate.
