Advanced Ion bond coatings

Multi Arc India has developed the first commercial arc PVD (physical vapour deposition) coating, using the Ion Bond process. The company engineers coatings to meet the specific needs for its industrial customers. These coatings are a family of compound, ternary and multi- layered coatings using Ion Bond technology. Proprietary process techniques are used to optimize the coatings for applications in cutting, fabrication, plastic, decorative and wear component markets. Ion Bond coatings offer good hardness, low coefficient of friction, chemical internees, high thresholds as well as corrosion resistance. Coating thicknesses range to 20 ?m, depending upon the application and coat ing composition.Features: Vickers hardness test at 50 gf load; critical normal force in Newtons required to detach the coating from substrate; measured by scratch test; measured between 100 Cr6 ball and coated substrate; measured by Dektak surface profilometer in micrometers; done by acoustic four point bend test; and amount of deformation before crack initiation.
