Special Cement For Joining Glass & Ceramics

Intel Engineers offers a special inorganic cement for joining glass, ceramics, paper, plastics, aluminium and wood to each other. This is a twin product of cement powder and thinning liquid which gives complete flexibility of preparing paste of viscosity to suit the user's exact application requirement. This cement is heat-stable and thermal shock resistant up to 600?C. It cures at room temperature in about 7-8 hours. The bonded layer after curing becomes ceramic-like. It is oil resistant and chemical-resistant to dilute and concentrated hydrochloric, nitric and sulfuric acids. It is white in colour, but can also be coloured, if required. It is odourless. Applications include glass to ceramic sealing, and joining, eg, halogen lamps capping, for ceramic heaters, for insulation coating of nonferrous molten metal ladles and high temperature furnaces. It can also be used as oil-resistant and chemical-resistant coating in corrosive atmospheres, ie, for fixing ceramic tiles in chemical laboratories, for example.
