Adhesive For Fibre Optic Industry

Loctite India Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, has launched OptiLOC, a new family of products for fibre optic bonding applications. OptiLOC range of products includes room temperature and heat curable epoxies and anaerobic adhesives used in a wide variety of applications in telecommunications, data linking, and networking. These are used primarily for bonding optical connectors, fibres, lenses, prisms and other components. These adhesives can also be used in optical alignment applications where high bonding strength is important. As they exhibit low shrinkage properties, they can be used in (a) glass fibre potting, (b) plastic and glass lens and prism bonding, (c) fibre bundling in ferrules, (d) assembly of components/packages for: attenuators, collimators, modulators, multiplexers, (e) receivers and transmitters and other applications.
