UV Flame Detector

Agni Controls offers an ultra violet flame detector,Fladet IH-166. The detector makes use of ultra violet sensitive photo cathode for detection of flame. It has a narrow spectral sensitivity of 185 to 260 nm, being completely insensitive to visible light. The UV flame detector has wide angular sensitivity (directivity) and can reliably and quickly detect weak ultra violet radiations emitted from flame. The detector can detect the flame of a cigarette lighter at a distance of more than 5 m. It can be connected to any standard fire alarm panel in any zone separately or along with other smoke and heat detectors. In-built red LED is also provided for visible indication in case of actuation. Provision for air purging to clean the detector eye by using instrument air at pressure of 3 to 7 bar. Applications: UV flame detectors are very effective for the following applications as per standard NFPA-72. Indoor – high ceiling areas; clean room; indoor warehouse; control room and environments that are unsuitable for other type of detectors. Advantages: rugged model suitable to use in any type of indoor application; easy to install, operate and maintain; high speed response; visual indication for alarm condition; and readily used along with other types of detectors for early warning. Detector sensitivity: the response time of the detector is a function of the size of the fire, fuel type, and the distance from the detector to the fire. Smaller fires and greater distances normally require greater response times. The detector can sense a flame of cigarette lighter at a distance of 5 m. It can detect a fire of 1 sq.ft fire at 30 m.
