Orbital Systems offers Transducers for Industrial Automation, which are used for precision measurement. Manufactured by Elap SpA, Italy, these transducers are of the highest quality and carry the 'CE' certificate. The range includes rotary encoders, rotary potentiometers, linear transducers and optical scales. These, along with non contact position sensors, infra red sensors and wire rope transducers provide the user a variety of options for measurement. Microprocessor based position controllers and counter units along with flexible couplings complete the range of allied products for precision measurement and controls from Elap. Rotary encoders are available from 2 PPR up to 25,000 PPR in a variety of packages such as the miniature one in 38 diameter body size or the heavy-duty one in 58 dia body size. Hollow shaft encoders are also available. Rotary potentiometers and linear potentiometers are made of conductive plastic element and offer high linearity besides long life and durability. Rotary potentiometers are available in single or mufti turn in standard or servo packages and are low cost items. Linear pots come in a range from 25 mm up to 1000 mm. Linear transducers and optical scales are extremely rugged units and are available up to 0.5 micron resolution. These items find use in SPMs, machine tools, packaging industry, moulding machines, paper cutting machines, cut to length lines, wood and marble industry, X-Y co-ordinate table, etc, or wherever precision positioning and controls are required.
