Thermographic Kiln Shell Scanner

Toshniwal Industries has introduced a Thermographic Kiln Shell Scanning system for sponge iron industries designed by world known infrared thermometer manufacturer, Raytek, USA to continuously monitor the temperature of kiln shell surface and display the same on the PC in control room enabling operator to detect hot and cold spots on the kiln shell. Features: maps entire kiln surface temperature and displays in real time; high resolution hot spot detection; fail-safe “hot-spot” alarm outputs (PC independent); interface with other programs via OPC; modular design simplifies installation and service; all data and alarm stored and accessible in one common database; and multiple level security settings. Benefits: detects the hot spots due to refractory loss, damage or wear; optimises and manages the kiln maintenance; extends the operational life of kiln and refractory; and detects the cold spots due to some blockage or ring formation inside the kiln. Thermographic Kiln shell scanner consists of the MP150 process imager, which provides accurate temperature images of the moving objects. This multi point measurement is achieved by a rotating optical system, which collects infrared radiations of up to 1024 points within a 90° field-of-view. The motorised mirror scans at rate up to 150 lines per second. The DataTemp software runs on conventional PC and displays the resulting configuration and manages the temperature profile calculations. It also facilitates to create the Temperature Measuring Zones (TMZ) and provides the average, max and min temperature values and correspondingly gives the digital outputs which can be fed to the relay modules.
