Calibration, testing and troubleshooting of instrumentation for strain gauge based sensors is a laborious and time consuming task. Precision portable calibrators simplify this complex process. The ME 1310 series multi-loadcell simulators from Microedge Electronics bridge this vital need. These are indispensable tools for production testing, repair and service personnel dealing with strain gauge instrumentation. Consisting of precision wire-wound/MFR star bridge networks to simulate single or multiple sensors in parallel, the ME 1310 generates precise differential mV signals in accordance with the system excitation voltage and sensors’ mV/V rating. System zero point (offset) is simulated independently by means of a multi-turn potentiometer. The span potentiometer is useful for calibration, set-point simulation and performance monitoring (auto-zero, linearity, batching set-point simulation, overload limit, etc), of instrumentation. By properly simulating the load factor, i.e., the number of sensors of known bridge resistance, the excitation drive capability of the instrument is also tested. These units are powered by the instrumentation. These units are housed in a rugged, compact, ABS handheld enclosure.
