Microbial Amperometric Sensors

Microbial Amperometric Sensors

By using the yeast Arxula adeninivorans, a microbial amperometric sensor for the determination of biochemical oxygen demands has been developed at the university of magdeburg. This microbial species, which is thermoresistant and osmo-tolerant, has broad substrate range. The sensor allows the BOD measurements with short responce time of 70 seconds, with an operational stability of over 35 days. It suitable for waste water measurements.
