Luminescence sensor

Balluff India offers luminescence sensors. Optical sensors typically register the target object or the actual desired object features. When this is not possible, markings are applied to the object which are then sensed. But when no visible markings are allowed on the object, invisible markings such as fluorescent materials have to be used. Luminescence sensors are designed especially for this purpose. The Balluff luminescence sensor (BLT) is equipped with a modern UV LED, so that no external UV lamp is required. Signal processing is done with a microprocessor using a teach in process. The BLT learns the difference between the fluorescent marking and the background by pressing the corresponding buttons (MARK and BKGR). If the difference is too slight and not reliably distinguishable, an error signal reports this. The sensing distance is typically 9 to 18 mm. By using an additional lens the sensing range can be extended to between 15 and 30 mm.
