Linear Distance Measurement Sensor

PG Electronics has introduced a Linear Distance Measurement Sensor for transducing distance in linear movement of an object. These sensors with analog output work effectively to measure and give output when a metallic target moves towards or away from the sensor EDPA-101 in short stroke applications. Unlike proximity switches, which give a switching output once the job or target is sensed at specific distance, this sensor gives continuous output depending upon the actual distance. The sensors could be ideally used in places where optical or other contactless sensors do not work. They are unaffected by dust, dirt or incursion of non-metallic objects entering in the measuring range. EDPA-101 is available for transducing distances in ranges 0-10 mm, 0-16 mm, 0-30 mm, suitable for supply on 18-24 V.DC it gives 0-10 V or 4-20 mA output. The sensor is used for distance measurement in rough environment, position monitoring, stamping, automated assembly, material handling and many more.
