K-Beam Sensors

K-Beam, the high-precision acceleration sensor Type 8370, is suitable for measuring very low frequency and static accelerations. Electrically and mechanically identical in design to the widely used servo-accelerometers, it is a cost-effective substitute in many areas of use. This sensor has a sensitivity of up to 2.66 mA/g. Ranges available am ? 1 g, ?2 g, ?10 g, and ?20 g. The structure of the element, which has been chemically etched from a piece of silicon, eliminates wear and impact sensitivity. Before undertaking measurements, the user can carry out a function test using the built-in self-test facility. The sensor and electronic circuitry are housed in a light-weight, air-tight, welded, stainless steel case. The K-Beam is suitable for operation in harsh environments, with high air humidity, including stabilizing systems in high-speed trains, subway cars, in braking systems and for vehicle travel comfort studies.
