Ion Sensors

Shavo Technologies offers Ion Sensors. The generation of unwanted static electricity during production processes causes problems in a wide variety of industries ranging from packaging to the medical sector. These problems, including loss of quality and interruption of workflow, can have major cost implications. A range of elimination bars is available to remove unwanted static, but these devices need to be monitored and cleaned regularly if they are to remain fully effective. With the introduction of the new 984 hand-held ion sensors, Meech has provided production managers and maintenance engineers with a robust and easy-to-use device with which to check the effectiveness of installed static eliminator bars. The 984 monitors both AC and DC static elimination bars by detecting ions generated from the emitter pins, and, in the case of DC power sources, polarity as well. The performance of the bar can be verified by measurement of the distance at which the 984 confirms the presence of ions and this can be achieved without the need to remove the bar from its operating position. The 984 weigh only 162 gm, including a 9 V PP3 alkaline battery, and measures 75 x 60 x 25 mm. A convenient power on light and low battery indicator help ensure that the device is always ready to use.
