Inductive Ring Sensor

PG Electronics offers an Inductive Ring Sensor, RS 102-100. During the feed of metal wire or rod for continuous production if there is an interruption or break, it could be monitored using Ring Sensor RS 102-100. The ring diameter of 100 mm allows large range of metal rods which can be monitored. Ferrous rods of even 3 mm diameter can be sensed. Non-ferrous metal rods or wires can also be sensed. Sensitivity adjustment is provided to match any particular job. The unit is suitable to operate at 10-30 V DC. It has ‘Supply Indication’ and ‘Metal Sensed’ indications giving a solid state output, and is ideal for use in CNC and other machine tools where the system needs an input confirming the presence of the in-feed. The other most important application is “metal pass confirmation”. The ring sensor RS 102-100 with big bore can confirm or give signal for counting, for example steel balls, bolts, nuts, etc. Sensitivity adjustment can be set for a particular sort of metal falling through the bore. Besides this application, RS 102-100 could be utilised to sense ‘unwanted’ metal pass. Other smaller units of Type RS 101-13, RS 101-45 are also available for sensing smaller objects or wires of smaller diameter.
