Glove Puncture Detector

Global Electronics has developed for the first time in the world a unique electronic system (Patent Pending), Glove Puncture Detector, Model GPD 300, that reliably detects the finest punctures (above 10 microns) in surgical gloves and instantly warns the doctor/healthcare professional about the condition of the gloves. Hazards and risks of infection from the blood of an infected patient coming in contact with skin are known and accepted by every medical and healthcare professional around the world. More than 40% of times, surgeons report blood on their hands due to a silent breach/puncture in their surgical gloves that goes unnoticed. This exposes them to the risk of getting infected the dreaded and dangerous HIV, Hepatitis B and C, which are incurable and fast becoming one of the largest killer diseases. This unit monitors 3 medical professionals present in the theatre at a time and continuously indicates the condition of gloves of each person in real time. This unit in now in use in many hospitals around the country. It not only gives a warning alarm when a breach occurs, but also monitors the condition of the gloves and gives “Good” indication when the gloves do not have any breach thus reassuring the medical personnel and increasing their confidence levels.
