Catering to the domestic as well as export market (including the US market where the company has a manufacturing and engineering base), the company recently acquired the gauge business of a leading US company. The fuel sensor (tank unit made of sheet metal, or of aluminium die cast type) is part of the mechanism that indicates the level of fuel in the tank. The fuel sensor, fitted in the tank, consists of a float (NBR type/PU type) with level arm, and a potentiometer. As fuel is consumed, the float moves up/down, increasing the resistance of potentiometer which includes TFR type to indicate the fuel level on the fuel gauge. The fuel sensor could also be of the capacitive type, with integrated suction and return tubes.
