PG Electronics, leaders in design and manufacture of shaft and hollow shaft encoders in India, offers Fork (or slot) Sensors – Pulse Transmitters that found numerous applications in the industry. This is due to the versatile designing of these sensors that attributes to various features. The smallest of all fork sensors, EIR 101 – C-10, provides a gap of 10 mm for the user to sense presence or absence of a moving object. One could run a slotted disc in the gap and make a pulse transmitter or even an encoder using two sensors. Frequencies to up to 5 kHz can be achieved. Sensors of bigger sizes with gaps C-30 and C-50 are meant for applications where the passing object requires bigger space or where tolerance of side-movement of object is greater. ERA-101 is an edge sensor with fork gap of 50 mm. The robust unit gives analog output when an edge covers or uncovers the part of fork gap. These sensors are ideal for use in rubber, tyre-cord, paper or even cold rolling steel industry. Enclosed in metal housings, all the sensors are opto-electronic based sensors giving switching output and suitable for operation on 10-30 V DC, except ERA 101 which gives 4-20 mA or 0-10 V output having supply voltage of 18-30 V DC.
