PG Electronics offers Flexible Couplings for Rotary Transducers and Drives. Precision Flexible Couplings from makers of shaft encoders transmit position and speed accurately over a wide range. Working as a flexible link between drives and rotary instruments like shaft encoders these accommodate certain amount of angular and lateral misalignment, yet maintain good torsional stiffness. The couplings meant for shaft sizes between 4 mm to 16 mm have guaranteed bore tolerances with clamp tightening feature. This ensures excellent concentricity against the commonly used grub tightening method. With standard bore sizes of Metric and British standards they are available in Spiral (PSK type) and straight Slit (PPK type) versions. PSK type offers more flexibility while PPK type gives higher torsional stiffness. These are light weight made from special aluminium alloy and strong enough to drive the rotary instruments at speed of 10000 rpm or even above accurately. Moreover they are fast-reversal tolerant. Mostly used for shaft encoders, potentiometers and similar position and speed transducers and also serve as safety links for the precision rotary transducers and drives.
