Digital Transducer (Encoder Position Transducer & Precision Tachometer)

PG Electronics offers Digital Transducer such as Encoder Position Transducer – Scalable (EDA-201) and Precision Tachometer for Ultra-Low Speeds (PST 201).

Encoder Position Transducer – Scalable (EDA-201)
This new unit EDA-201 accepts signals from Absolute encoder upto 24 bits in SSI format, 16 bits in Parallel or even signals from Incremental encoder. The unique scalable function which enables one to convert the encoder output resolution into any desired resolution, be it a binary number or any other integer per turn, makes it versatile. It can provide an output in 4-20mA, Binary or BCD as options. If so desired, it can also give an output compatible to RS-485 interface or switching outputs. The scaling or programming is user friendly and does not need any arithmetic formula or constants to be introduced. One can program it on field using a hand-held remote, 4-button programming tool, which can be detached thus locking the set values. The unit has a six digits display, which is scalable along with the desired output. Offset or negative values could also be programmed. The EDA-201 is offered in a standard flush housing of size 192 x 96mm and is suitable for operation on 240V, 50Hz supply or alternatively 24V.DC supply. The EDA-201 is an ideal tool for position, displacement, length, quantity or dosing and cut-to-length systems.

Precision Tachometer for Ultra-Low Speeds (PST 201)
The precision Pulse Tachometer comprises a high resolution Pgcoder, which can deliver up to 10000 pulses per revolution and a site configurable digital indicator. PST 201 enables one to measure, indicate, and even use the output for feedback control at extremely low speeds. To transduce speeds as low as 1 RPM & even lower RPMs, PST-201 is capable of display & delivers the outputs effectively. The same unit can be configured by user to work on several thousand RPMs. The unit mentioned above forms a useful tool to measure rotary speed in rpm or linear speed in meter per minute or any other speed parameter with precision. The Digital display unit is site configurable and has electronic lock to avoid tempering. Upper and lower speed thresholds can be offered to set to give output contacts. Similarly analogue output can be given in the form of 4-20 mA. Ideal for use for winder-drum in a hoist, paper machines, sheet metal lines, web speed and tension control monitoring of any form, drum speed in crane system and numerous other applications where slight changes or difference in speeds are to be registered.
