Motor-driven machine facilities require further external installations, for example, individual positioning or CNC control systems. According to Eckelmann GmbH, the use of Econtrol-Spr2O eliminates the need for an additional control svstem. The modular structure permits to upgrade the PLC by means of a subassembly for operating one or two axes. More axes can be established. The actual positions are captured by means of incremental position measurement signals; position setpoints are output as ?10 V analog signals. The axis group is supplied with data and travel commands from the PLC program. it is responsible for travelling tasks and sends status information back. The operating dialogue of the control can be adapted to the machining task.
