CNC Metal Cutting Monitoring System

OptiMonitor, a CNC metal cutting monitoring system, continuously monitors the milling and drilling processes by measuring the spindle load. This system records tool performance data for all the tools used during cutting. These data include total cutting time, total time in material, tool wear, maximum load reached during each operation and the stop stages during cutting operations. The data can be made to display on the screen at any time between operations. OptiMonitor can also supply statistical reports on overall cutting times and tool conditions per tool. It records the load pattern for each programmed tool. Based on this pattern, two limits may be set. Whenever the actual load reaches stop overload limit, it responds by stopping the machine movement and whenever the actual load reaches warning overload limit, it responds with a warning lamp and stops the machine.
