Drum Controllers

Crane Control make drum controllers are incorporated in the power circuit for starting and speed control of AC slip ring induction motors driving various motions of cranes of all types and also other machinery. The drum controllers are designed as per BS-587, IS: 1822-1967. They are provided with direct stators reversing contacts as well as rotor resistance control. The contacts are standard, with current ratings up to 250 Amps. In case higher current ratings are desired, stator reversing is performed through contactors. The reversing contactors are controlled through auxiliary contacts which are provided in the drum controller. The drum controller is operated through contact fingers which are of hinged pattern rigidly clamped to a steel square bar insulated with a Bakelite square pipe. Each finger consists of heavy bar section which is fitted with a replaceable hard drawn half round copper tip.
