Removing Burr & Dust From Cavities & Holes

When holes are drilled in machined components, the burr gets accumulated at the bottom. During machining of complicated castings, the casting burr gets inside the cavities in the castings, and it becomes very difficult to remove this burr. Air blow gun does not work in such cases. Latest development in the field of air tools is a pneumatic jet pump, which is basically a vacuum generating tool by using compressed air. It works on the venturi principle. Compressed air, when passing through a venture shape, expands, and produces a vacuum. By changing the direction of air flow, it also works as a blow gun. It is a very compact and portable air tool, which can be carried conveniently anywhere on the shop floor. The tool has suction tubes of different shapes and sizes. Straight suction tubes from 6 mm OD to 25 mm OD can be used for different sizes of holes or cavities. Flexible suction tubes of different sizes can be used for insertion in deep and intricate cavities or holes. The vacuum produced by the tool is powerful enough to suck the dust or burr, and to store it in a cotton bag at the back side of the tool. This also prevents contamination of working environment. For stubborn dust or burr, the tool can be alternatively used as a blower and as a suction pump to get effective results. This method of cleaning deep holes after machining is very effective and trouble free. It takes less time, and requires less operator fatigue. It is environment friendly.
