Hydraulic Compressor

Birdman Chemeng offers a Hydraulic Compressor, Model HCM 100. This is the most handy and portable machine for making compression joints of ACSR, AAAC and AAC conductors and earth wires of various capacities, ranging from 33 kV through 400 kV conductor joining including earth wire. This machine may also be used for joining wire rope.

Body: Compressor body is made out of carbon steel forged block and is mounted on steel base-plate. The ram is made out of high tensile carbon steel hard chromed and ground finished.

Ram: The ram is self-retracting type with built-in concealed coil spring. Immediately upon release of load the ram automatically retracts and occupies its original closed height.

Pump Unit: The pump unit is housed inside the oil tank. The single plunger 2-speed pump unit, is specially designed to have greater mechanical advantage so as to develop full load at normal hand pressure. The system of switchover from low pressure to high pressure pump is automatic.

Release Valve: The stop and release valve mechanism, is such that the wear and tear of the release valve mechanism is absolutely minimum and the system is leak proof. Simple hand pressure is sufficient for operation of the release/stop valve.

Safety Valve or Pressure Adjusting Valve: This valve actuates automatic release of pressure, which could be pre-set at a desired load, so that while operating at any instant, if the pressure develops beyond the pre-set limit, the valve will automatically open to release excess pressure and will maintain in the pre-set value. This valve acts as a safety valve with device for adjustment.

Pressure Gauge: The gauge is built-in with the machine fixed on a rest bar rigidly to avoid vibration during operation. This is calibrated to read the applied load directly in tonnes.

Oil Tank: The oil tank is built-in with the compressor unit with a capacity to hold approximately 2.0 litres of oil.
