Oil-Free Air Compressor

Elgi Equipments has indigenously developed oil-free Reciprocating Air Compressors in a range of 35-45 cfm as solution to the increasing need by industries and research institutions for higher purity in compressed air applications. These are are engineered on the principle “No oil in the compressor system means no oil in the output air from the compressor”. The compressor uses a dry crankcase that is totally devoid of oil, and thus operates with no oil in the cylinders or crankcase. The internal moving and friction parts of the compressor are designed suitably to overcome the absence of lubricating oil. By using sealed bearings for crankshaft and connecting rods, the machine is ‘oil-less’ and highly durable. Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene (PTFE) coated pistons and specially coated cylinder walls assure wear resistance. Designed for 100% continuous duty, the compressor eliminate the risks of oil contamination as well as the resulting extra costs, by preventing oil from entering the production process and affecting the end product or downstream components. To the customer this means less expenditure on maintenance, which includes elimination of expensive oil removal filters, frequent stoppages for oil top, and oil fills in the crankcase. Elgi’s oil-free series offers great flexibility for a wide range of applications in industries like food, electronics, healthcare, etc., where oil-free compressed air is a necessity. The company has introduced these compressors in the 10 and 15 HP range and in two variants – units mounted on an air receiver and on a base frame. Salient features include: deep finned cylinders for efficient heat dissipation; cylinder walls are specially coated for wear and corrosion resistance; polished bore and smooth finish of the cylinders provide longer wear life of the piston rings; PTFE coated piston rings and PTFE rings ensure gas tight sealing; stainless steel reed valves for corrosion resistance; robust and easy to assemble single piece crankshaft; flanged aluminium aftercooler from high pressure cylinder for efficient cooling; delivery unloader for automatic unloading of the compressed air in delivery pipelines; twin sided belt guard meeting OSHA standards; and rust proof internal coating for air receiver.
