- Standoff is a device which when pressed into punched or drilled hole in a sheet, gets permanently mounted in sheet. After installation, the standoff head is flush with one face of sheet metal. The length of standoff enables stacking of panels. Standoffs are available in types: through threaded or blind threaded.
- Sizes available are M2.5 to M5 with various standard lengths. Standard materials available are steel, heat treated steel & stainless steel. Standard finishes available are passivation for stainless steel standoffs and Zinc blue plating for steel standoffs.
- Advantages of standoffs : easy installation, permanent threads with high torque and pull out strengths, variety of design & material to suit the application, panels can be easily replaced from parent panel for maintenance, no loose hardware like washer is required, space & weight saving. Various applications of standoffs are home appliances, UPS, PCBs, telecommunication devices, etc.
