PVC Cables

PVC insulated power cables have proved integral to all distribution networks in low tension, fixed installation. PVC as insulation and sheathing compound is strong and made for rough handling, resistant to water, moisture, oils and chemicals. PVC black compounds can resist ultraviolet degradation. Specially formulated PVC is flame retardant, and reduces emission of halogen and smoke. Applications: used as heavy-duty cables for transmission and distribution of power up to and including 6.6 kV; as multi-core control cables up to 61 cores; as screened railway signalling cables; as cables for underground railway transport; as mining cables, flat cables for submersible pumps and submersible winding wires; and as heat resistant cables for working temperature up to 105°C. These are also used in various defence applications, as elevator lift cables, as lead covered cables for oil fields, as fire retardant cables for high fire risk zones, etc.
