Q-Flex Cables And Softwares Ltd offers multi-pair instrumentation cables that are PVC insulated and conform to BS: 5308 Part 2 standards. The conductors of the cables are plain annealed copper wires in accordance with BS 6360 standards. Two insulated conductors are uniformly twisted together to form a pair. The length of lay used shall be such that the two wires forming each pair are not dissociated by normal handling. Two pair cables without individual pair screens shall have four cores laid in quad formation round a central dummy. When individual pair screening is required, each pair shall have a laminated screening tape. The required number of pairs shall be assembled together using the reverse layer or reciprocating lay technique. The cable shall be so constructed that the pairs are in concentric layers. Non-hygroscopic fillers may be used to maintain a circular formation. The number of pairs preferable is 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 50. The mutual capacitance of the pairs or adjacent cores does not exceed a maximum of 250 pF/m at a frequency of 1 kHz.
