Belden offers Cables, Catsnake. These are heavy-duty UTP cables for digital audio/video formats or for use in Ethernet patches. These cables utilise bonded pair design, which bonds the individual insulated conductors together along the full length of the cables. These provide the cables with a uniform conductor-to conductor spacing along its longitudinal axis. These ensure consistent impedance characteristics, where standard unbonded-pair cables tend to gap during flexing, coiling and handling. These gaps can create an impedance mismatch, leading to significant loss in quality. These video/audio cables maintain their impedance and return-loss performance - even when flexed and handled in rugged, harsh, outdoor environments. These category 5E cables deliver exceptional audio/video performance and they are extremely rugged and flexible; ideal for outdoor use, in broadcast truck applications, in studios and for portable, professional audio/video use. To further ensure excellent performance in a variety of environments, the company provides heavy jacket wall versions of these cables for medium duty applications and an upjacketed version for the harshest heavy-duty environments.
