Bilfinger Water Technologies GmbH offers Johnson Screens Cable Rake Bar Screen – a vertical, cable driven coarse screen suitable for screening of sewage, storm water or raw water intakes. This is not only employed in new structures, but can also be easily integrated into existing plants: pumping stations; inlet of wastewater treatment plants; industrial wastewater. It is ideal for removal of solids from solids/liquid mixtures to protect downstream installations in pumping stations or in the inlet area of wastewater treatment plants. The Johnson Screens cable rake bar screen, supplied by Bilfinger Water Technologies, is employed as a coarse screen for the mechanical pre-treatment of wastewater. It has been successfully tried and tested in pumping stations or in the inlet area of wastewater treatment plants. It is an outstanding solution for heavy screening removal tasks due to its robust design and its intelligent PLC control system. The screen’s submerged section exposed to the wastewater flow consists of parallel bars. These parallel bars retain solids greater than the bar spacing as the wastewater flows through. The raking system comprises of a rake with teeth on one side, supported by three cables, and is activated by the water level differential in the channel. The retained solids are extracted by means of this cable-driven raking system, which lifts the solids upward, and are then pushed by the scraper device into the conveyor belt or container. The screenings cleaning cycle is repeated until the set difference in water level has been reached. This machine can also be operated in timer mode.
