Brass Cable Glands, Skintop

Lapp Kabel has launched its extended range of metric Skintop® brass cable glands: the Skintop MS-M and the EMC cable gland Skintop MS-SC-M Brush (featuring the world's only brush system) are now also available in new sizes of 75 x 1.5, 90 x 2 and 110 x 2. Lapp Group is thus one of the first manufacturers to produce cable glands according to the official sizes specified by IEC 50262 for metric cable glands. The two new cable glands have been further improved with a dual lamella cage at the top and bottom. This provides additional stability to thick, heavy cables as well as reliability and improves the strain relief more effectively. The dual lamella system has been patented by Lapp Group and can perfectly stabilise very thick cables with a clamping range of between 53 and 68 mm, e.g., cables of size M 75 x 1.5. This makes installation much easier and reduces the number of parts required because previous attachment solutions required the use of up to three different gland types. The Skintop MS-SC-M Brush is the ideal gland system for all screened cables with large cross-sections. Whereas previous systems used a spring-based solution to fix the cable in place, this is performed by thousands of brush hairs arranged in a ring on the gland. The large variable clamping range makes installation, disassembly and cable assignment easier and quicker. It is particularly suitable for rpm-controlled electric drive systems and for use in industrial machinery.
