HUBER+SUHNER is supplementing its existing range of silicon-free RADOX® anti-capillary cables with new cross-sections. The Swiss company can now supply customers with cables in cross-sections of 0.35, 2, 2.5, 4 and 6 mm². Following the successful launch of the silicon-free RADOX anti-capillary cable in May 2013, HUBER+SUHNER is now expanding this product family of barrier-sealed copper cables to include additional cross-sections. HUBER+SUHNER already offered 0.5, 0.75, 1.0 and 1.5 mm² cross-sections. The company has now added 0.35, 2, 2.5, 4 and 6 mm² to its range. Inside the conductor of the anti-capillary cables, a grease-like filling material prevents the capillary effect in the cores. This stops liquids in the vehicle, such as oil, water or AdBlue, being conveyed and prevents damage to the electronics and sensors at the other end. The grease-like filling material is a compound developed by HUBER+SUHNER that is produced in the company's own compounding facility in Switzerland. Since it is silicone free, it does not form undesirable foam when it comes into contact with transmission fluid. The compound can also withstand the electron-beam crosslinking process and, as a result, these cables also feature an electron-beam crosslinked RADOX insulation material. They are particularly resistant to high and low temperatures, ozone and weathering, and are characterised by their excellent abrasion resistance.
