Cosmo Electricals offers Welding Cables. A pair of electric cables supplying power from a welding machine to the work being done; one lead connects themachine with the electrode holder, the other lead connects the machine to the work. Generally used to transmit electric current into a secondary circuit that emits and welds objects, welding cables are usually constructed using highly flexible copper wires which are surrounded by a protective rubber covering that is armoured to be heat and flame resistant. Additionally immune to the effects of abrasions, oils and other such materials, welding cables are commonly recognized due to their wide spread utility in public light arrangements.Though mainly used for powering welding tools, welding cables are the secondary cables that are used in powering these machines. This is because most of the generators in arc-welding tools are designed to require two cables for their optimal performance, where a welding cable serves the function of powering the electrodes in the welding mechanisms.
Long lasting and flexible, these cables are also used to power electrical circuits such as sound set-ups and entertainment lighting systems. Using welding cables for such purposes is not always recommended, because when used for such purposes, these cables can possibly malfunction which may lead to dangerous electrical accidents.
Efficiently protecting the intricately stranded copper wires, the material covering of welding cables can differ between Neoprene or Ethylene Propylene Diene M-Class (EPDM) rubber. As welding cables are usually exposed to harsh environments, both of these styles of rubber are designed to be durable and resilient against sparks, abrasions, tar, grease, oil and similar materials. Furthermore, both these synthetic rubbers are renowned for being water resistant, thereby making welding cables suitable for use in both wet and dry conditions. With such a competent exterior, the interior of welding cables are capable of withstanding temperatures ranging between 60-90 degrees, which can sometimes rise even higher. Customarily, the interior of welding cables are made from carefully stranded copper wires that allow for good flexibility. Most grades of welding wires differ only with regards to the strength, capacity and durability of the cable.
