Patel's Analog And Digital Measurement Co (PADMACO) offers Winding Set up for 500 kV Bushing. A bushing is one of the most critical components within an electrical network. Where an entire electrical network is operating at many hundreds of thousands of volts, it is the bushings function to carry the current. The degree of safety required is in direct correlation to the operating voltage required. The existing designs for condenser bushing requires the conductor to be wrapped in special insulating paper and metallic foil placement at strategic locations during the course of winding the paper. Once the wrapping process is complete, the bushing is dried and subsequently immersed in oil or resin. For such bushings with higher voltage ratings, the job to insulate the conductor with paper and foil requires precision and sophistication. The company has designed, developed and fabricated the winding set up for 500 kV bushings, indigenously for the first time in India. Until now, such set up had to be imported from countries like Japan or Sweden. At this time Indian bushing manufacturers have the ability to offer up to 400 kV only. The development and availability of this winding set up, places Indian bushing manufacturers at an advantageous position to fulfil the supply required in the India market. It also fills the gap currently faced by Indian bushing transformer manufacturers to obtain this technology either through collaboration or develop it themselves in-house. The set up will promote the use of indigenous high voltage bushings and reduce dependence on imports. The company currently conceptualising condenser bushing winding machines up to 1200 kV.
