Variable Auto Transformers

South Eastern Equipment offers Variable Auto Transformers. These transformers are used to deliver the voltage from 0 to 270 V in single-phase and 0 to 470 in 3-phase continuously without any break in the output voltage. These units are very compact and very economical. The various capacities available include 2, 4, 8, 10, 15, 28, 40, 50, 60, 100, 150 and 200 A. These capacities are made for single-phase and three-phase units. In single-phase, from 2 to 100 A, only one core is used and above 100 to 200 A two units, up to 100 A, three units are random mounted and the common shaft that drives the carbon for three cores simultaneously giving equal voltage across each phase. Above 100 A, 6 cores are employed and they are mechanically arranged in such a way, that across each phase, they deliver equal voltages. In three-phase, the units are rated for 415 V, 3-phase with an output of 0-470 V, 50/60 Hz. Applications: it is used to obtain variable DC voltage for electroplating sets; to vary the speed of DC motors either by hand operation or remote control by using stepper motor; to manufacture servo-controlled voltage stabilisers up to 600 kVA by incorporating stepper motors; to control and regulate the temperatures of various types of furnaces and ovens; to make big capacity floating rectifiers for telephone exchanges; to control the lighting of theatres, auditorium, etc.; to make HV test sets, oil test sets, meter test benches, etc.
