Toroidal Transformer

AEPL offers Toroidal Transformer, which gives smaller dimensions, lighter weight and low stray magnetic fields, it can build more compact, lower cost quality products without sacrificing performance. The toroidal cores are constructed by a continuously wound ribbon, there is vertically no air gap. The windings are evenly wrapped over the entire core allowing the transformer to operate at a higher flux density than EI Transformers. The Primary cause of leakage flux from any transformer is the air gap. In traditional transformers with EI lamination stacked to form the core, the air gap at the junction of the E and the I is the source of visit of the leakage flux. Since toroidal core is wound from a continuous ribbon of electrical sheet, gives negligible air gap hence stay hence stay fields from air gaps are eliminated. The windings of the toroidal transformer uniformly encase. The core thus results in a natural magnetic screening effect, which is combination with the elimination of the air gap results 8:1 reduction of radiated magnetic field over an equally rated EI transformer.
