Power & Distribution Transformers

Manish Electricals manufactures Power and Distribution Transformers for indoor or outdoor installation up to and including 3150 kVA having 3.3, 6.6, 11, 22, and 33 KV range conforming to I S: 2026-1977, 1180-1981, BS: 171-1970, IEC: 76, DIN and IEEE. The transformers are oil filled type having ONAN or ONAF cooling. Testing: each and every transformer is subjected to routine test enumerated in latest Indian/international standards in a well equipped testing laboratory during the process of manufacturing as well as on finished equipment. Type tests like "capability to withstand short circuit", impulse, etc., are carried out at well equipped laboratories like ERDA and CPRI. The heatrun test is carried out at an in-house laboratory precisely with highly accurate instruments.
Design:

• Transformers designed to withstand surge and dynamic ability to with stand short circuit including thermal ability to withstand short circuit
• Utmost care is taken in designs for reliability under varying conditions of loading, operation atmosphere
• Workmanship of highest standard adopting modern techniques of processing to make job robust and reliable
• Magnetic circuit – the cores are built from special high grade alloy low-loss cold rolled grain orientated silicon steel laminations
• The windings are made from best quality EC grade aluminium insulated with paper or electrolytic copper insulated with paper
• Adequate redial or axial ducts are provided where ever necessary to prevent hot spots formation during operation and overloading
• Adequate insulation is provided to have uniform voltage distribution throughout winding length under surge condition
• Windings are designed after balancing ampere turns through out the axial length to minimise short circuit forces during fault condition making equipment more reliable during such fault condition
• Accessories and finishing – the transformer assembly is thoroughly dried, cleaned for foreign material, put in clean tank and is filled with best quality transformer oil under vacuum after taking out all terminals, fitting and all accessories in position
• External steel surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, degreased and painted with rust in habiting primer and subsequently with two coats of high quality synthetic enamel paint.
