Distribution Transformers

Royal Electricals manufactures a range of Distribution Transformers that provides the final voltage transformation in the electric power distribution system. This type of transformer is known to possess the highest level of power and as well as high voltage rating. The kind of cooling method that is used helps in determining the power rating and ideally some of the most commonly used methods include using oil or other kind of heat-conducting material. There are different kinds of distribution transformers, among them, Step Up or Step Down transformers. This type is made from two coils of wire that are wrapped around metal cores – when voltage is applied to the primary coil that transfers voltage into the secondary one through a procedure known as magnetic flux. Another kind of transformer is the Three Phase, Wye of Delta used as one of the indoor types of distribution transformer. Used in the distribution of power, this type consists of a single generator within a power plant and offers three different phases of electricity on one armature. All the three phases get distributed along high tension lines. A single distribution transformer that is designed to support a 'wye' or a 'delta' pattern manages all the three phases. A large number of industrial applications utilize this type of three-phase distribution transformers while most of the residential applications use single-phase distribution transformers.
