Current Transformer

Translec Engineers manufactures a complete range of current, voltage and power transformers for use by electrical and electronics industry. These are for system voltage of 660 V, 50/60 Hz. Current transformers up to 5000 A with 1 A or 5 A secondary and for metering, protection or special class applications are in the range. Voltage transformers for metering and protection up to 100 VA and 1Ø and 3Ø power/control transformers up to 100 kVA are also in the present range. These are made to: IS 2705; metering, protection and class PS CTs are test approved at C.P.R.I., Bhopal. Types: tape insulated or resin cast – the selection is to be done by customer depending on the environment in which the CTs will be used; bar primary as well as wound primary – the selection amongst these depends on ratio, class of accuracy and VA burden. Selection is not by choice. The selection of accuracy class depends on application, i.e., the function to be performed, for indication or for integrating meters class 1, 3 or 5, for precision current measurements class 0.1, 0.2 or 0.5, protection class CTs for overload and short circuit protection; and special purpose CTs (class PS) for restricted earth fault protection, differential protection, core balance and interposing.
